Custom Floor Trusses
Built for Strength and Efficiency
Our custom floor trusses are engineered to provide superior strength, durability, and support for a wide range of applications. Using advanced design software, each truss provides efficient load distribution and adaptability, making them ideal for supporting large open spaces and complex layouts.
Our floor trusses streamline construction by reducing material waste, labor demands, and overall build time compared to traditional joist systems. They deliver exceptional performance and cost-effective solutions while enhancing structural integrity and design flexibility.
The Floor Truss Manufacturing Process
PHI floor trusses are crafted by our experienced team of truss experts using state-of-the-art equipment at our facility in Early, Texas. Watch the full floor truss manufacturing process here:
Custom Floor Truss Configurations
Here are the two most common floor truss configurations, each offering a balance of strength, efficiency, and adaptability to typical building loads and span requirements.
Pratt
The Pratt truss uses diagonal web members in tension and vertical members in compression, optimizing material usage under gravity loads. This design is ideal for handling variable or concentrated loads, provides efficient stress distribution, and is well-suited for longer spans compared to the Warren truss.
Warren
The Warren truss features a zigzag pattern of equilateral or isosceles triangles, with web members alternating in direction to distribute loads evenly. This design provides strength and stiffness under uniformly distributed loads, is simpler to fabricate, and uses fewer web members, reducing material costs.
Custom Floor Truss Options
Custom floor trusses can be designed with or without a chase and can sit on either their bottom chord or their top chord.
Truss Chases
A chase in a truss is an opening designed to provides a dedicated pathway for utilities like plumbing pipes, electrical wires, or HVAC ducts through the truss structure, typically found in floor trusses where these services need to run between rooms in a building.
Bottom Chord Bearing Truss
Bottom chord bearing trusses sit atop a wall plate or sill like a standard floor joist.
Top Chord Bearing Truss
Top chord bearing trusses hang from the top plate.
